A.Fraser is Shining

This montage is a one-off piece that is relatively self explanatory. It is a video collage of straight-forward footage from Stanley Kubric’s 1980 film, The Shining, mashed-up with the first three opening minutes of audio from performing artist Andrea Fraser’s 1989, Museum Highlights, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The collision of audio and video speak about institutional and psychologic critique on a number of levels.

Andrea Fraser is Shining was screened and highlighted at Film al Frescoe 2014, hosted by The Galleries at Moore.
