Words can seem benign and simple, but the complexity of what a statement implies can easily deride our assumptions. As we are increasingly defined by the words that we extend through emails, texts and online social networking venues, the choice of what to say or how it is said becomes extremely relevant; a simple sentence becomes a proclamation. Exploiting the use of text, I aim to confront the simplicity by which we have been culturally enticed to define ourselves. My intention is to challenge both the sincerity and honesty pre-supposed by our online networking, micro blogging and text-posting activities. My work, as magnified text on a wall, questions its importance and allows for various interpretations as we inadvertently take words out of context and consume partial conversations.
